FAQs
Your Questions Answered
Do you accept insurance?
At this time we accept private pay,
NC Medicaid Direct, NC Health Choice, and Healthy Blue Medicaid. We are considered an out-of-network provider for all other insurance companies. We can provide a medical receipt (super bill) for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. By offering private pay we can begin services immediately, without the need to wait on a referral from a doctor! Additionally, we can customize treatment plans without the constraints of insurance companies. We are also an approved ESA Program and Disabilities Grant service provider.

Do you provide in-person or virtual services?
We provide both in-person and virtual (teletherapy) speech/language services.
In-person services are available in Greensboro. Virtual services are available for clients ages four and up throughout North Carolina. However, in-person evaluations are recommended for all clients.

Can my child receive services if they already have school services?
Yes! Children can receive school-based and private services at the same time. We encourage communication between all professionals serving your child.

What is the difference between school
and private services?
School services are provided after a student meets requirements set by the
NC Department of Public Instruction. Eligibility is contingent on the educational impact of their disability, and students are often seen in groups of 2-4. The private services that WOW Speech Therapy provides are based on the functional needs of each child. All treatment sessions are individualized - one client/family at a time.

How do I know if my child needs services?
Does your child have difficulty producing certain sounds or communicating their everyday needs? Do they struggle to answer simple questions, tell a story or follow directions? Do they struggle to understand stories read to them or to put words together to form complete sentences? Do they continue to struggle with reading despite classroom interventions? If so, speech -language therapy can be of great help! These are challenging questions which we are happy to discuss during a phone consultation.

If my child didn't qualify for school services can they receive private services?
The likely answer is yes! Children often have to be diagnosed with a moderate to severe delay or disorder to qualify for state early intervention or school-based services. In the private practice setting we can treat clients with a wider range of needs.
