Meet the owner

Monique Goring Shealy
M.A., CCC-SLP, CLC
Monique is a nationally certified, state licensed, speech language pathologist. Although originally from Massachusetts, she has lived in North Carolina since 2014. Monique holds a Bachelor's degree in Child Development from Tufts University and a Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from UNCG. She has international study experience including an undergraduate summer semester in France, and a graduate clinical internship in her family's home country of Barbados. She is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Monique has provided in-person and teletherapy speech and language services to children of all ages in home, school, and community settings. Monique has additional pediatric work experience as a former middle school special education teacher and preschool teacher's assistant, prior to becoming an SLP. She is passionate about helping children and families communicate and advocate for themselves in their daily lives. In order to increase her skills in recent years she has completed the following trainings in addition to ongoing CEU coursework: Tethered Oral Tissues Specialty (TOTS) Training, Mini Munchers Clinical Training, Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), Simon Says Myofunctional Training. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and toddler son, trying new recipes, and traveling.
